CHARITY PRIZE DRAWS, DONE RIGHT
A step-by-step guide for charities
Works alongside your existing fundraising platforms
DrawFunder manages the prize draw, while donations continue through the fundraiser's existing page — JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel. Nothing to replace, no new donation system, and no cost to your charity.

The journey — end to end
From “I will run a charity prize draw” to meeting my fundraising target
- STEP 1
Fundraiser creates a prize draw
Your supporter signs up, adds a donated prize, sets an entry donation and picks a closing date.
What this means for your charity
Nothing required from you — the fundraiser sets it up themselves.
- STEP 2
They connect their existing fundraising page
They paste the link to the page they already use for you — JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel. No API integration, and DrawFunder never receives or holds your donations.
What this means for your charity
Your fundraising setup is unaffected, and the platform's existing verification means no extra vetting.
- STEP 3
They share the draw page
DrawFunder generates a public draw page with the prize, the story and an “Enter the draw” button.
What this means for your charity
Your charity's name and mission appear on the page, alongside the fundraising page link.
- STEP 4
Supporters donate through the fundraising page
Entrants are sent to the connected JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel page, which processes the payment and Gift Aid as normal.
What this means for your charity
Funds never touch DrawFunder and DrawFunder takes 0% — you're paid on your usual schedule.
- STEP 5
The fundraiser confirms each entry
The fundraiser matches each donation on their own fundraising page and confirms the entry. DrawFunder does not verify donations independently.
What this means for your charity
Public entry totals and a timestamped audit trail sit on the draw page; entrants' details are never published.
- STEP 6
Draw closes and a winner is chosen
A winner is selected using a verifiable random method and published on the draw page. A free-entry route runs throughout.
What this means for your charity
You already have the donations. The promoter stays responsible for running their draw.
What we ask of your charity
- Nothing mandatory. Any fundraiser with a JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel page for you can use DrawFunder today.
- Optional: mention DrawFunder to supporters running challenges who want to unlock a wider audience.
- No contract, no minimums, no exclusivity, no cost.
Common questions
Does the money ever sit with DrawFunder?
No. Funds go straight through the fundraiser's JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel page to your charity. DrawFunder takes 0% — the provider's own fees apply as normal.
Is this a lottery?
Every draw includes a genuine free-entry route, which is how a promotional prize draw can fall outside lottery licensing under the Gambling Act 2005. That depends on how the promoter runs their draw — see our Compliance Guide.
Do we have to approve each draw?
No approval required — the fundraising platform's existing verification of the fundraiser is enough.
